Vehicle description
This beautiful 1930 Chevrolet was purchased on October 12th, 2015 out of the state of Georgia. The car was originally restored for a private museum collection a couple years prior to our buying it but due to inventory changes at the museum, it was instead offered for sale. The agent for the museum did not represent the vehicle with all honesty when we questioned driving it on tours, parades, and occasional pleasure driving stating it was "road ready and could be driven anywhere."
When the enclosed transport opened up upon arrival to us and the car was driven onto the pavement we were pleased beyond belief with the beautiful condition both inside and out. The disappointment came when we drove it from the drop point home and discovered in the restoration- -none of the electrical issues (lights, horn, etc.) had ever been hooked up. We realize that as a museum piece, none of these were necessary but we were misled by the representative for the sale which was very disappointing.
Over the first winter the electrical issues were immediately brought up to perfect working order, the gas tank was removed, sandblasted inside, and a new tank liner installed. Two new headlights replaced the existing ones and wanting it to be completely show quality, the dash knobs were all replaced. The dome light switch and plate were replaced as was the rear view mirror and the front apron trim. We had the wiper motor rebuilt and replaced the wiper arm and blade. For a safety factor the turn signals were added.
In addition some cosmetic issues were added. A five piece bumper medallion set was installed, the proper hood ornament was added, and decorative flower vases and mounting hardware were a "MUST" to add to the elegant appearance. (IT"S A WOMAN THING!) We can now, without a doubt insure a future buyer that this car is in better than new condition and for sure is "ROAD READY!"
While owning this car we have competed at various area shows with the highlight being one particular Chevrolet Dealer event winning 1st in it"s class and Best of Show over 68 cars. Pleasure drives always get great comments, requests for photo shoots, but the most enjoyable thing is meeting other car enthusiasts who appreciate the beauty of "Ms. Georgia" as she is lovingly called. The car has always been kept in a heated garage on our property. There is another classic headed our way so something has to go to make room for a new arrival so we are in search of a new owner to enjoy the upcoming summer weather in style.
With this sale the buyer will also get a full collection of all receipts concerning upgrades, replacement parts and work done along with a 1930"s Chevrolet Repair Manual, a custom fitted car cover, and if they would like them- -the period hat, gloves, and purse shown in one picture that appear on the seat when showing the car.
Please feel free to ask any questions prior to placing a bid and know that the buyer is responsible for transportation of vehicle following the sale but we will provide information if needed of reputable enclosed haulers for consideration. We also welcome interested parties to personally inspect the vehicle during the sale process. Winning bidder is required to make a $1,000 non-refundable deposit upon close of auction followed by payment in full within 7 days of auction close. Happy bidding and thank you in advance for considering this ad.
