Vehicle description
1924 Model T Ford Huckster Depot Hack
This auction, with no reserve, is for a really nice 1924 Model T Ford Huckster. This is an older restoration/build. The engine has the domed pistons so it has a bit higher compression and runs nice and strong. It was converted to a distributor and has a nice Stromberg carburetor. I run it on a 12 volt battery since the 6 volt seems to have a hard time cranking the engine with it"s high compression. It starts and runs great. I simply hook up a charger after each use and it works great. The charge on the battery is good for many trouble free starts and to run the ignition for days. I installed an electric fan that can run off of a second battery or the one in there. I did this for parade use and runs nice and cool during the 4th of July parades and others. We were using the truck 5 days a week to park it in front of our antique store for advertising but we have closed the store so we no longer need it. It has Rocky Mountain brakes which work really good in traffic conditions and regular use. It has a Warford transmission which is supposed to have under drive, straight and overdrive but I have never been able to shift it into overdrive. I installed a toggle switch for the ignition since not too many people would ever be able to drive it away even if they got it started. I also installed a 12 volt solenoid so that the starter button won"t have to take the high amperage of the starter. The top half of the windshield opens forward for extra ventilation. There are a couple of cool wood crates in the back. One is to house the extra battery, when used and the other one is to carry tools and cleaning supplies. The wood finish has developed a nice patina but it could be refinished to a beautiful light oak finish if desired.
The T is located in Northern Nevada so if you"d like to come out and inspect it before you bid, you are welcome to do so.
A paypal deposit in the amount of $2,000.00 will be required with the winning bid within 24 hours and the balance will be in cash when picked up within 7 days OR a certified check can be mailed for the balance (if it will take longer than 7 days), HOWEVER, the car will not be released until the check clears (usually 10 business days).
Pick up and shipping are the buyer"s responsibility.
