Vehicle description
This 1923 Model T Stake Bed Truck is a new reproduction of the H. H. Babcock Co. of Watertown, N.Y. Closed Cab & Stake Bed made in the early 1920"s (see the ad in the pictures.) The engine has been rebuilt with new aluminum pistons & St. Steel valves and new exhaust manifold. The starter & generator have been reconditioned and works perfectly on 6 volts with a new 6 volt regulator, heaviest duty 6 volt battery Napa sells, it has a manifold heater for the cab, a Camco water pump, glove compartment, clock, Amp meter, high & Low beam head lights, brake lights ("stop" light under bed and light bar on top of rear of cab, not shown in the pictures.) Dash light mounted on top of steering column, NH Holly carburetor, old winged radiator cap & moto meter, New seat cushions, seat belts, windows lower in doors, windshield opens, doors lift off hinges easily if wanted, stainless steel bed strips and carriage bolts, runs on battery or magneto, magneto horn. The stake bed is 5 feet 6 inches long, all of the wood is new red and white oak. The tires are 3 1/2 x 30 T Driver tires that actually measure 32 inches in Dia. giving a little more road speed. Demountable rims. It is 7 feet 2 inches (86") tall and 154 inches total overall length. A fun truck to drive and show. Last summer in three shows I attended with it, it won 5 awards including Akron Chambers Choice and the Pembroke best of show, and East Aurora best in Category.
