Vehicle description
No Reserve Auction. Must sell my custom street legal indy car / Formula 1 (F1) race car that has been completely reworked and made into an extremely fast road legal daily driver.
Originally built for a pro athlete. It is beyond custom and allows for a much larger driver to fit in (over 6"4 up to near 7 feet tall and 250-300 lbs plus can still fit in it and drive comfortably), totally unlike your tiny indy cars. Has a removable race steering wheel and a racing harness inside the fairly roomy cockpit, along with digital gauges. It has a mirror chrome custom wrap on it, as it is matte black underneath.
It also has custom air ride suspension to be able to go anywhere (on demand raising the front end to clear any embankment or large speed bump) and is a blast to drive. Has oversized brakes by Wilwood. It has a tubular steel frame blueprinted and built by a former automotive engineer.
Plenty of power. My mechanic friend who builds custom cars for a living, is currently installing a modified V6 Honda engine and transaxle. It is a newer Honda 3.0 Liter set up with the automatic transaxle. Stock it has roughly 250 horsepower and uses the Honda wiring harness and basic electronics for worry free reliability.
The weight to horsepower ratio is that of a supercar or a street bike, just like a real formula one car. A Lamborghini Aventador weighs 3,500 lbs and has 690 horsepower, and also costs $460,000. Where this custom indy car weighs approximately 1350 and has approximately just under 300 horsepower. The mirror chrome indy car also actually attracts much more attention and in my opinion is more fun to drive.
It is easy to drive and maintain just like any other car. It runs like new as my goal was to have it super reliable with virtually no maintenance needed. It has a Florida custom built title and FL licensing. All turn signals, lights, brake lights, etc. It was easy to register in FL and may be able to be kept registered in FL, due to FL allowing for snowbirds to register cars in multiple states. The insurance is super affordable. My local mechanic / car builder friend would also be willing to customize anything you may want done to it.
It even has a custom trunk so you can carry a small suitcase with you, try that on a crotch rocket. It is strictly a convertible / open air supercar, although a custom fighter jet type roof could be fabricated. I wear a helmet when I drive it on the highway for fun, but locally its a blast to drive with the wind in your face. There is a new technology that allows for wind to be pushed out of the cabin area with air, like in the new million dollar McLaren Elva, which creates a relative bubble of calm by shaping wind around the vehicle"s cockpit. Or just enjoy it like your on an awesome roller coaster and live life to the fullest.
If you have never driven an open wheel race car, you are missing out, on lookers look at you as if you just drove off the race track and constantly wonder if it is street legal (it is). It would make a great advertising vehicle, or dress it up with numerous logos like real indy cars, and watch it appear all over instagram anytime you take it for a spin.
Over $100k has been invested in the street legal formula 1 / indy car. Regrettably, I must sell it now, so I am expecting to take a huge loss. I will accept the best offer and look forward to selling soon. Also selling locally and will consider selling outside of the auction. Also available (separately) a custom chrome Ram truck for just $8k (located in Houston, TX). Can help arrange shipping on my end. Please call for more details. 813. 992. 0788
